Lawmakers in Georgia fought throughout a parliamentary committee listening to into proposed laws that seeks to pressure some organisations to listing themselves as ‘overseas brokers’. 

It could apply to organisations that obtain greater than a fifth of their funds from overseas, and compel them to undergo monitoring from the authorities.

Critics have been protesting outdoors parliament and say the laws is modelled on Russian laws designed to curtail freedom of speech and stifle dissent.
