A person has been saved from gushing flood waters within the swollen Los Angeles River in a dramatic rescue.
The person was trapped within the river and held on to a concrete barrier wall as a rescuer from Los Angeles Fireplace Division was lowered down from a helicopter.
The rescue employee then secured the person to a cable earlier than the pair had been hoisted again as much as the helicopter.
The person, 51, was taken to hospital to be handled for hypothermia.
